A + P’s Duxbury Beach Engagement Session in Duxbury, MA
I have done so many beach engagement sessions this summer. But this was my first time photographing a Duxbury beach engagement session in Duxbury, MA. And it was absolutely one of my favorite session and favorite beach.
The idyllic town of Duxbury is located on Cape Cod Bay, 35 miles south of Boston on the South Shore. The topography of Duxbury is the result of the last Ice Age. Captain’s Hill, the highest point in Duxbury, is a drumlin formed during that era. The Myles Standish Monument sits on top of the hill and is a prominent landmark for seafarers. Duxbury’s landscape includes dunes and salt marshes, rivers and streams, lakes and ponds, swamps and cranberry bogs, as well as forests, fields and farms. Enclosing Duxbury Bay is Duxbury Beach, a glacial outwash barrier beach. One access to the beach is by a half-mile long wooden bridge, reputedly, the longest in the country. Learn More
As I’m located on East coast in Massachusetts, It is quite challenging to get beautiful sunset behind the water. So I find it works the best if the beach has a bay area before you entering the main beach. That means we can get sunset behind the water like this Duxbury beach engagement session. A + P are so energetic and fun. We totally had a blast throughout this beach engagement session.
Their Story Before Their Electrifying Duxbury Beach Engagement Session
It all started on the night of a surprise party for three of my closest friends. On the second floor function room of a local dive, I met the love of my life. I had no idea what I was in for when a beautiful, curly-haired blonde came walking up to me and said, “I like Game of Thrones.” We weren’t really talking about it but that didn’t matter. Her bright eyes and beautiful smile drew me in right away and I couldn’t get enough of it. She was funny, sweet, and most importantly, an amazing dancer.
We both tried to play it cool but neither succeeded. It was obvious we were into each other and nothing else mattered about that night. I just wanted to talk to be near her. After a few weeks of texting, dates, and phone calls, being with her just felt like home. The day finally came when I was going to ask her to marry me. I was uncomfortable, stressed, and really sweaty but I was so in love I didn’t care. I made my way over to the couch where we were watching the Office to ask Amanda if she would spend the rest of her life with me. Through tears of joy she said yes!”
Beautiful Sunset Over the water on Duxbury Beach Engagement Session
As the sun was getting lower and lower to the horizon, the perfect golden glow was what exactly I was looking for to wrap up this Duxbury beach engagement session. And the best part was we randomly found an oyster shell in a great shape. I just couldn’t let it go. I had to make a ring shot out of it before we left.
