Engagement Session in White Mountains NH

It was such an amazing experience photographing Stephanie and Andrew’s engagement session in White Mountains. The White Mountains area always has a special place in my heart.  It has all the nature, fresh air, peace and serenity we could ever ask for.  Every year, my family and I would drive up for a summer trip or annual fall road trip for foliage.  In fact, we are going for a camping trip in couple of weeks.  So I always wanted to try an engagement session in White Mountains.  But I need to find a couple who have sense of adventure and love to explore.  And finally My dream came true.

Stephanie and Andrew just moved to New Hampshire a few months ago due to work reason.  And White Mountains area is where they started exploring New Hampshire.  They have been drive along Kancamagus Scenic Highway into White Mountains and Lower Fall was last place they stopped.  So they asked me if they could have their session at Lower Fall in Albany.  And my answer was “Of Course!”  I was very excited.  And this session turned out so amazing!  They have made such a great decision to have their engagement session in White Mountains.

So if you are a nature lover and looking for an engagement session in White Mountains, I’m your gal for sure 🙂

HOW THEY MET

The first time I met Andrew, was in May of 2016. My supervisor had introduced him to me during my first week of my new job. She stated that we would be flying out to Omaha for a two week training together. I thought he was so cute but was very reluctant to interact with him because I was not looking to be in a relationship. I avoided him for our entire flight to Omaha.

Once we arrived to our destination, we began to interact more and very quickly grew to enjoy each others company. We spent loads of time together during that two weeks and started dating very shortly after arriving home. We both found our work-place romance to be very unexpected but we’ve been together ever since 🙂

HOW DID HE PROPOSED

So Andrew started his plans early into us dating. He actually stated a few months into our relationship that he thought 2020 would be a good year to get engaged. Well as time came closer to 2020, he began subtly dropping hints that he was in no way financially ready to buy a ring, leading me to believe that he would likely not be proposing the beginning of 2020. Come to eventually find out, he had been saving all along.

Over the next few months he had drafted several different rings online and had been waiting for subtle cues that I may drop to help him to determine which ring he would buy.  A few days before thanksgiving I had a dream that Andrew proposed. I woke up and told him about the dream. He asked me to describe the ring to him. When I described the ring, to his surprise, I had almost perfectly described one of the rings he had saved in his shopping cart online. He bought that ring a few days later.

Now, because Andrew had been dropping hints about not buying a ring anytime soon, he decided the best day of 2020 to purpose was THE FIRST day of 2020, because I would never expect it! He was right.

He had told me that as a belated Christmas present, his father and his wife wanted to buy us a New Years Day brunch.  We had a wonderful meal at one of our favorite restaurants. It so happened that the restaurant had a dock that  you could walk out on to view the ocean.  Because we had never done it before, and it would slickly be the last time we would be at this restaurant (as we were moving to New Hampshire DAYS later),  Andrew asked me if I would want to walk out.  I happily agreed.

As we walked out, we looked over the water and goofed around like we always do.  Andrew said “You know, there is just ONE last thing I’d like to do before we leave Rhode Island.” Perplexed, I asked him what.  That was when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so shocked, my first words were “no way.” I was quick to change my immediate response to yes and he put the ring on my finger! It was beautiful and the perfect purpose for us !

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT EACH OTHER

I love that Andrew is such a kind person. He cares so much for others and wants to help everyone. He is so fun to be around and he is ALWAYS making me laugh.

I love that Stephanie holds me accountable to the person she believes I can be. She instills confidence in me that I never knew existed before meeting her. She has the most caring of hearts whether it is towards her work with kids, or to me even on my worst days. I love everything about her, there is no other way to put it.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LOVE STORY, WHAT TITLE WOULD IT BE

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR VENUE AS WEDDING VENUE

We loved the rustic farm house feel of the venue. It gave us multiple options for our ceremony spot, provided plenty of on-site rooms and a bridal suite and provided us the space to host our rehearsal dinner. We loved that it was family owned and that our coordinator was so flexible with everything. It is such beautiful location and we are so excited to be getting married there.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIEK TO ADD?  DON’T BE SHY

One of the things we bonded over during our two week training was that we both owned a cat. Our cats have two VERY different personalities and we were very nervous about them meeting, their ability to live with one another and how would it effect our relationship if they weren’t able to get along. Turns out we didn’t need to worry at all because It wasn’t long before they were best friends.
